Based out of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Navv Systems, Inc., is transforming healthcare via NavvTrack® Care Traffic Control. The company provides real time location systems for healthcare’s fast-paced and dynamic work environment. NavvTrack powers asset management, mobile team orchestration, and self-serve mobile patient wayfinding. NavvTrack improves productivity, safety, and efficiency for healthcare teams, patients, and visitors.

Origins and Growth

Daniel Siegal, MD and Paul E. Zieske founded Navv in 2018 to transform healthcare with location intelligence. The Navv co-Founders met in the 2014-15 inaugural class of Henry Ford Innovations’ Davidson Fellowship program. The Navv team has grown from 2018 to include Chief Revenue Officer Dann R. Lemerand as well as additional support and development resources. In 2021, Navv received funding from several Venture investors to power its platform growth and expansion.

Daniel Siegal, MD
Co-Founder & CEO

Dr. Siegal is a radiologist, computer scientist, innovator, and leader. He has over 15 years of experience in clinical radiology and informatics. His vision for Navv is to provide easy-to-use technology to hospital administrators, clinicians, and support teams. Dr. Siegal speaks nationally at industry conferences and HIMSS virtual summits.

Dr. Siegal loves travel with his family, recent trips include Waimea Canyon, White Mountains of New Hampshire, and the Na Pali Coast.

Paul E. Zieske, BSEE, MSHI, PMP
Co-Founder, President, & Chief Product Officer

Paul is an engineer, workflow guru, and innovator with 20 years of experience in healthcare IT and air traffic control systems. Most recently he was program manager for RTLS, RFID and indoor positioning at Henry Ford Health System. Prior to moving into healthcare, he worked on air traffic control systems at the FAA and led a project to replace cumbersome and out of date weather equipment in Alaska with inexpensive linked web cams. Paul is a Project Management Professional (PMP).

You can typically find Paul in the gym training for another triathlon.

Dann R. Lemerand, FHIMSS
Chief Revenue Officer

Dann is a strategist and healthcare IT business development expert with over 20 years of experience. Dann is a Fellow of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). He has taught healthcare information technology at Macomb Community College. At Navv and throughout his career, Dann is driven by the success of his clients and partners and their ability to improve patients’ lives and care.

Dann is an avid cyclist who occasionally enjoys Pollyeyes World Famous breadsticks from time to time. 

Heather Grisham

Heather Grisham

Heather has spent over 27 years working with start-ups and early-stage technology companies, specializing in the establishment of scalable business processes for administration, finance, operations and fundraising. Prior to joining Navv Systems, Heather was the COO/CFO for Pixel Velocity, an early-stage technology firm creating software for the oil and gas industry.

Even though Heather is tone-deaf, she loves to sing for anyone who is interested in a personal concert.

Eugene Baxter

Eugene is an experienced CTO with extensive experience with cloud, SaaS development, healthcare and leading global teams. He combines experience as a Global Solutions Architect at Amazon, SVP for development at a major pharmacy automation company, director at one EHR company and CTO at his own EHR company.

In college, Gene worked for a telephone company where he would climb telephone poles and paint orange stripes on the ground. 

Steve Hermans
Senior Director, Integration 

Steve has domain expertise in relational database programming, performance tuning and HL7 interface development and deployment. He has designed database solutions by creating longitudinal Electronic Health/Medical Records Systems; use of relational and dimensional aspects of data from various types of clinical information systems. Steve creates a stress-free client experience through product integration and application development with NavvTrack.

Customer Delivery Manager

Jessica is a process engineer, project manager, and implementation strategist. Prior to joining Navv her experience spanned multiple industries. Most recently she drove process improvements for a major healthcare organization, where she led the creation of a technology solution to ensure timely follow-up care for patients. She is passionate about enhancing your patient experience through teamwork and innovation.

If you ever need a recommendation on where to eat, Jessica is an avid foodie who loves trying out new restaurants.

Erin Brynn
Product Designer

Erin is a product designer who enjoys combining research and design to create a user-centered experience. Prior to working in healthcare technology, she worked as a UX researcher and designer on various projects in Ann Arbor and studied Spanish in Granada, Spain. She joined the team in 2020 and is excited to work with Navv to improve the patient care experience.

Erin loves to listen to 80s music on her way to work.

Caleb Kartha Bortles
Field Engineer

Caleb is a field engineer with a strong background in mechatronics, computer aided modeling, and fluid dynamics. In the past he has worked on assessing 18 technologies from industries including ADAS, additive manufacturing, machine learning systems, rocketry, shock mitigation design, sensor design, advanced agricultural systems, and advanced biomedical systems. Caleb enjoys troubleshooting and working with Navv clients in their facilities to improve outcomes.
